Can someone help me with Cobra DS Adapt?

I’m having trouble with my Cobra DS Adapt and can’t get it working the way it should. Something changed after I adjusted it, and now the performance feels off. I need help figuring out what went wrong, how to reset the settings, and what adjustments might fix the issue.

Set it back to the stock setting first. Start from zero.

On the Cobra DS-Adapt hosel, loosen the screw, pull the head, and line the adapter back to the stated loft and lie setting you used before. If you do not know the old setting, put it in the neutral stock position from the chart. Tighten it until the wrench clicks. One click. Not extra.

If it feels off after an adjustment, it is usually one of 4 things.

  1. Loft changed.
More loft often adds launch and spin. Less loft lowers both.

  2. Lie changed.
A more upright setting tends to start shots left for a right handed player. Flatter tends to start them right.

  3. Face angle changed at address.
Some settings make the club look more closed or open, and ppl react to that without noticing.

  4. Head not seated right.
If the head and adapter are not lined up cleanly before tightening, it feels weird and sounds off too.

Easy reset steps:

  1. Remove head.
  2. Check adapter sleeve markings.
  3. Set neutral or your known old setting.
  4. Reinstall head fully.
  5. Tighten until click.
  6. Hit 5 to 10 balls before changing anything else.

If you still spray it after the reset, post your current setting, your old setting, and your ball flight. Left miss, right miss, too high, too low, etc. Thsoe details matter.

I’d do one extra thing beyond what @hoshikuzu said: mark where you are now before touching anything. Tiny Sharpie dot on the adapter/head alignment, then reset. That way if the “bad” setting actually wasn’t the issue, you can go back without guessing.

Also, I kinda disagree that it’s always the sleeve itself. A lot of times the adjustment makes you set up differently, and then people chase the club when it’s really posture, tee height, or ball position changing because the head now looks different.

A few things to check:

  • make sure the ferrule/sleeve isn’t sitting proud or crooked
  • inspect the screw threads for dirt or grit
  • confirm the head is fully seated before tightening
  • if it’s a driver, check movable weight position too if yours has one
  • compare launch window, not just feel

Best reset test is hit 3 balls with your normal swing, then 3 with the ball 1 ball-width farther forward, then 3 with tee height slightly lower. If one of those suddenly fixes it, the adapter probably isnt “broken,” you just changed delivered loft/face in a way your eyes hate.

If you post the exact setting and miss pattern, people can narrow it down fast.
